The Sebastopol Farmer’s Market is an absolute essential stop for anyone looking for plant-based foods.  They offer a variety of selections from vendors like Sporgy MushroomsJ.E.S. and many different produce sellers.  There is also live music at the Sebastopol Farmer’s Market and the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers played on March 6th, 2022.

Jes Lyons, owner and founder of J.E.S (Just Eat Some), explained that “there’s a lot of folks out there with dietary needs either by restrictions or by choice and it’s nice for them to be able to come out and get a little variety of everything… what we do here is specifically for folks who aren’t necessarily trying to just eat plant-based but want to incorporate some more vegetables in their diet.  It’s better for the environment, it’s better for their health.”  J.E.S. is a plant-based food vendor, serving up options including vegan mac and cheese, a savory crepe dish, and a variety of baked goods.

There is also a variety of fresh produce available at this market.  Noah Wolf-Prusan, a produce vendor at the market, explained “I think that there is a lot of value in being able to talk to the person who’s growing the food and being able to ask them what your growing methods are, find out what they’re excited about, details about the vegetables.  I think there is so much value to that.  Plus, at least with my circumstance, we’re immediately local, so we’re within three miles…when you go to a grocery store, you’re contributing to a lot of other not great environmental factors by buying lettuce and things from all over the country.”

The produce at the market is fresh and local.  The quality that can be found there will make any plant-based food you make nutritious and full of flavor.  From oranges to mushrooms to broccoli, you will be able to find the ingredients for your next plant-based meal.  While you’re at the market, don’t forget to check out the live music and grab a plant-based lunch from J.E.S.
